Catalina aug 24th 2009 : 3 beautiful dives at catalina with great visibility! we dove wrigley reserve, arrow point and indian rock. many bats rays and harbor seals were seen that were too skittish to appear in a photo.

star of scotland november : Photos from the star of scotland wreck and "the pipe" in Santa Monica, CA. On all dives I used my tokina 10-17mm fisheye lens to get in close to the subjects, and 2 strobes, always changing strobe positions. All photos were edit to improve contrast. Pelagic Jellies : Pelagic invertebrates from my 6th and 7th blue-water dives of the month in the open ocean. We had more amazing finds including this very rare juvenile Ragfish. Lots of siphonophores were also out, but not as many comb jellies or pelagic gastropods as last week. I can't wait to get out again soon.

Marina Wildlife : The marine life in marina del rey has been unbelievable lately! Here's some photos from this morning, all taken above water. They turned out better than the underwater photos I tried the other day. To learn more visit my California Marine life page. catalina august 2010 : Beautiful day of diving at Catalina Island.. in addition to a dozen black sea bass, 2 angel sharks, a few scythe butterflyfish, and a football field full of squid eggs, the highlight was seeing 100 large bat rays. Oil Rigs Sep 2010 : The LAUPS dove the oil rigs on Sept. 24th. Although vis was poor in the shallows where the sea lions were, vis was good down deep. Of course dives here never disappoint due to the immensity of life covering the rigs. There were no schools of fish this time, but a few salps and jellies were floating by.

Kona Favorites 2011 : Some favorite underwater photos from our May 2011 trip to Kona, Hawaii. I got 6 dives in, including a pelagic magic dive with Jack's diving locker, and a Manta Night dive with Kona Honu divers. Service was excellent from both shops. Conditions were great. Nikon D7000, Sea & Sea housing : Diving at Catalina and Anacapa islands with the Nikon D7000, Sea & Sea MDX-D7000 housing, and Ys-110a strobes fired via fiber optics. What a nice setup, very light in the water with flawless controls. I'll be shooting some video next.
